Mission:

Development and promotion of scientific research relating mainly to the natural resources of the country.

Objectives:

* Promotion of applied research, by means of the development of processes and products rendering scientific services in the scope of the natural resources, searching for a high socioeconomic impact.

* To promote the creation of strategic alliances between organizations of research and development, national as well as international, and other public or private organizations, searching for the most efficiency in the projects that are developed.

* The diffusion in the national community of the advances that science and technology have generated the country.

Main Activities:

One of our main strategies is to create joint ventures with the private sector and universities to encourage R&D and commercialization of research findings and new innovations. We had had four national contests, with 36 projects of R&D in execution by several organizations.

In addition, as part of the activities to reach our objectives, we plan annual seminars, in which we invite to leaders relators in R&D.

For example, we have had important speakers: Mr. Jim Hardie, CEO Cooperative Research Centre for Viticulture, Australia; Mr. Michael Hood, CEO Cooperative Research Centre for Mining, Australia and; Mr. Jorma Routti, Executive Chairman CIM Creative Industries Managemente Ltd, Finland; Mr. Paul Mc Gilvary, CEO Hortresearch, New Zealand and Mr. Graham Rowe, CEO GHRA, New Zealand.
